Camp Description:The site was a little worse for west when we arrived. Only one rain of the season so far, probably 1-1.5”. The hot tub is completely filled and the inlet has strong inflow (>1 gpm). We cleaned the bottom of the hot tub of organics. We also cleared most of the oak duff around the fire pit, clipped a bunch of dead limbs from the perimeter trees, and re-established the historic deep spring above the fire ring. The seep is an easier and cleaner place to filter water from. We used PVC that was already onsite to act as an outlet, and tried our best to protect the seep from erosion and animals. Hope you enjoy it!!

Water Source Details:Hot tub full with spring PVC flowing in (recommend filtering from inlet) and historic seep spring re-established above fire ring
Weather Conditions:Clear and 65 during the day; gusty, clear, and 40 during the night

Camp Description:Cistern is on the gross side (lots of plant matter, fallen branches, bugs) but was able to filter from it with no issues. Campsite is on a hillside, but there are a few spots under the oak trees to pitch a one- or two-person tent that are a little flatter.
Water Source:Flowing
Water Source Details:Water is trickling from the spring into a cistern.
Weather Conditions:mid-80s during the day, low 50s at night
Pine Spring Camp Survey - 10-23-2020 - by Los Padres Forest Association

Camp Description:A large pine tree just above Pine Spring fell across the top of the oaks directly above the main campsite and spring tub. The dead pine was dangling precariously above the campsite = very dangerous hazard.

The LPFA Trail Crew headed to Pine Spring in October 2020 to clear the dead pine and haul it out of the oak tree above the camp. With the use of crosscut saws and a griphoist, we were able to spend two days cutting and yanking the pine out of the oak.

Final product, we were able to successfully clear the hazard pine tree. Very challenging yet fun work. Enjoy this beautiful camp with great year round water.
Water Source:Flowing
Water Source Details:Good water in the spring, the tub and everywhere in between.
Weather Conditions:PERFECT!
