Description:
Oretega Hill - 5317 feet
Named for Ramon Ortega, a pioneer bear hunter and rancher in the area. The U. S. Geological Survey named the hill in his honor when they mapped the area. Ramon had a ranch on Matilija Creek at the junction with the Upper North Fork and also at Potrero Seca at the head of Sespe Creek.

I tried summit'ing it, wearing shorts, and my legs looked like I played jump rope with barbed wire. I gave up after a couple hundred yards.
