Ballinger Campground Survey - 02-20-2021 - by Oh Three

Camp Description:Why is this the 1st entry for this large campground in the Los Padre National Forest? Because it's a OHV campground full of RV's, "toy haulers," with all kinds of engines revving, and dirt bikes flying around. Even though today was 40 degrees, clouding up, and windy, the campground & local trails were full. Plus Ballinger is one of those "concessionaire" campgrounds where some private company charges $20 or more per night. Needless to say, I u-turned, left Ballinger and went south to Quatal Road, driving the entire length of Quatal Road from the 33 east to the 95 without seeing one other vehicle. Scenic.
