Description:

Thorn Point (6,935ft) is a peak located in the Sespe Wilderness of the Los Padres National Forest.  It is located on the northern slope of the Sespe River Valley and is accessed via Grade Valley Rd and Thorn Meadow Campground.  Thorn Point has great views in all directions but is most famous for the lookout tower that still resides on the peak.  The Thorn Lookout is one of the last standing relics of an age where lookout towers dotted the Forest along every mountain range.  The hike up the Thorn Point Trail is very nice and remains in good shape due to volunteer efforts from the local Volunteer Wilderness Rangers.

Water Source Details:The creek was mostly mud, everything is ground water when I went. I doubt there’s anything right now
