Redwood Camp Survey - 05-14-2016 - by Kali

Camp Description:I love this campground. I would have stayed there the whole time if I could. There was one other couple there when we camped there, but the peace and solitude we found there was perfect. The giant redwoods in the camp provide plenty of shade and opportunities for hanging a hammock. We did not build a fire (didn't need one), but there is plenty of wood to collect to do so. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the area, so keep that in mind. The river was flowing quite strongly--not enough to make crossing it a hazard, but well enough to allow us to restock on water. The trails on both sides of the camp are very overgrown with brush, especially on the China Camp side, and could use a little maintenance. Keep this in mind as bushwhacking through the brush gave us numerous encounters with ticks, so check yourselves and your travel companions frequently.
