Monte Arido Survey - 02-21-2021 - by Mike Maki
Link: Monte Arido
Date: 02-21-2021
Surveyor Name:Mike Maki
Camp Description:After bagging Old man Mountain it was back down and on the road over to Monte Arido. Not much to describe for Arido except it has a very broad summit with great views all around. All road hike. Watch for poodle dog bush. From there it was the long 12 mile haul back. A couple of little uphill sections on the way back but for the most part it's a nice grade back to the trailhead. Aside from the couple we saw in the first mile, we didn't see another person all day long. The last couple of miles were in the dark with a half moon illuminating our walk out. Didn't even need our headlamps. 24.5 miles and 11 hours. Some pics.
Water Source:Flowing
Water Source Details:Water in Murietta Canyon and what appears to be a stock pond about a mile up from the divide.
Weather Conditions:Calm and cool
