Description:

CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC, locked gate at Rose Valley Campground

The Chief Peak Road is the incredibly direct and steep road that leads from Rose Valley Campground to the Nordhoff Ridge Road. It is mostly dirt with some remains of pavement here and there.

Trail description:road is currently closed for the season. it is a long, steep slog as advertised. it is an excellent hike for training purposes. the payoff is the ocean and island views from nordhoff ridge.
