Description:

BOTTCHER'S GAP IS CLOSED DUE TO THE 2016 SOBERANES FIRE

NO TIMEFRAME HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR IT BEING REOPENED

Bottcher's Gap Camp is located at the end of Palo Colorado Rd at the Skinner Ridge Trail (1E04) trailhead just outside the Ventana Wilderness.  This is the Northern Terminus of the Condor Trail.  Bottcher's Gap is a typical Los Padres developed car-campground with pull-in sites, firerings and a camphost.  The camp offers nice views of the Ventana Wilderness and nearby peaks.  It is also very popular in the summertime and as a result it is recommended that a reservation is made prior to making the long drive to the campground.

Camp Description:Closed for a year now!

This whole site seems to not have any updates showing closures in Big Sur.

I am starting to understand how so many clueless people come into this area uninformed thinking things are open!
